Dispelling Some Rumors
Contrary to popular belief, and my title, it is not always hot in the desert. To tell you the truth lately it has been down right chilly. Not that I will complain about the tempatures here, I know what they are like back in MN. To compare things to back home; We had fall like weather for the better part of November and into December. The end of December and beginning of January it was actually dropping below freezing at night. Some of us were actually hoping for a white Christmas, to no avail. Now we are having what would be the beginning of spring, lots of rain, chilly temps at night an a little warm during the day. The biggest problem with this is the rain. There is no where for it to go, even with all the sand here, it does not get soaked up like you would imagine. So what you end up with are huge puddles the size of small ponds, and a whole lot of mud. It really makes me miss the snowy winters of home, not that you all have very much of that this year, but it sure beats the mud. It's almost enough to make you want the heat again... almost.

Hey there!
Should we send you some rubber boots like those we had when we were little?! You could stand wiggling your feet in the mud until they are suctioned in REAL good! Then when you try to actually move they are so stuck that instead of coming loose you can fall on your butt in the mud!
That's too bad you have the cold wihtout the snow. Snow is what makes it fun, however I don't miss you throwing me into the snow...ok..maybe a little. If it meant having you here, I'd even enjoy you putting me in the snow against my will! (This is NOT a voucher for you to cash in when you come home!)
Since you like the mud slightly better than the heat, I hope you stay covered in mud for a long time. What month does it get warm/unbearable again?
Love you Charlie,
Kathy
